And now, a real post
From the Washington Examiner:
How about ‘We win, they lose’ for U.S. strategy in the Middle East?
Now there’s a strategic vision for the 21st century. It worked for President Reagan in winning the Cold War against the Soviet Union and it will work for President Bush and his successors in the White House in winning the war against terrorism.
Yes, a sound strategy. A no brainer. But the Examiner goes on to worry that the foreign policy establishment is working to prevent anything like winning. Unfortunately, I think the problem is bigger than that - they take their cues from the national leadership. Secretary Rice is supposedly much more in tune with the President than Secretary Powell, yet with Powell, State did the nation's bidding, for the most part. I worry that it is the President who is trying to scuttle a win for Israel - and make no mistake, our side. I worried about it in comments at Hugh Hewitt's, I worry about it every day.
What do we do if even W has abandoned the Bush doctrine?
