Free Speech Advocates

Yep, Bush had it coming. He deserved those protestors after all those facist right wingers, that have no respect for free speech, protestors that were so rude when they interrupted Kerry's acceptance speech at the Democratic Convention.

Oh wait, there were no protestors at Kerry's speech. Possibly most people on our side have more respect for the opposition then to break into their convention and screw it up.

Hopefully America saw those moonbats at it again. And realize that those people are for free speech, like Keyes is for abortion on demand.

Other then that. Good speech. Reminds me why I like the man. He understands what those soldiers are going through. He understands what it means to be proud of this country. He knows the nature of the enemy. He was funny, he was heartfelt. Something Kerry can never be.

This Just In

I heard on the radio that Senator Kerry is coming out swinging, saying that Dick Cheney cannot criticize him because he wasn't in Vietnam. He's getting weirder.

On the road again

This time the Boston area, and my family is travelling with me, so less time for blogging. Have seen some of the convention. So far, near as I can tell, outstanding. So totally "in your face" to all those girlie men who said the Republicans need to tread lightly on the 9/11 stuff. Go ahead, criticize McCain, chumps.

Speaking of McCain, with that speech, everything is forgiven. The most selfless speech I've heard from him, and very, very pro-Bush. I fell asleep before Rudy got revved up, so I was surprised to read that folks were saying that he overshadowed McCain. But after reading what he said in his speech, rock on, Rudy!

On the terror front, the French find that their pro-Arab, anti-US stance doesn't buy them anything. Same with the Russians. Even more so with the Russians. Looks like a major terror offensive is on - 2 downed planes, a bus stop bombing, and now 400 hostages being held at a school. This is big news, and if it weren't for the convention, I expect that it would dominate the news. And the passivity of the Russians hasn't bought them any peace, either.

And the US, which is the one on the offensive in the War on Terror, has not seen another attack on our soil. There is a lesson there, I think.

President Bush's Acceptance Speech

There have been plenty of blog pieces on what the President's acceptance speech should sound like. I have my own thoughts.

The Presdient should come out on his special theater in the round pedestal and accept the nomination, and say that in wartime, the selection of commander in chief is especially important, and what matters is the here and now, not 35 years ago. Here and now, soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines are in harm's way, defending this nation, and he is proud of them, and proud of their service. He should walk out into the audience, and say something very respectful of General Tommy Franks, who will be sitting in the audience, and thank him for his years of service to the country, from Vietnam onward. And Tommy Franks should say to the President, I thank you and it has been my pleasure to serve the American people, and you as Commander in Chief. And then, in appreciation, hand him a box.

And then the President withdraws Osama's head from the box!!!

Yeah, it's a little gimmicky, but it would absolutely rock.

UPDATE: Kinda like this...(thanks be to Allah).
